Governors

The Governing Body are responsible in association with the Head Teacher, staff and the local authority for the running of the school. The School Governing Body meet on a regular basis and have several sub-committees which also meet regularly looking at different aspects of the management of the school. Governors help to plan and shape the direction of the school, taking account of budget and curriculum requirements and ensuring all pupils are provided for not only educationally but also spiritually, morally and socially.

The Governing Body consists of:


1. Parent Governors

Parents elected by the parent body

2. Foundation Governors

As this is a Church in Wales School, Foundation Governors are appointed by the local parish with guidance from the Diocesan Director of Education to preserve the unique character of the school

This person is elected or appointed by the teaching staff

4. Staff Governor

This is a non-teaching member of staff representing staff members

5. Community Governors

These governors are appointed to represent the wider community

These governors are appointed by the Local Authority

The governors are really involved with school life. They are regularly in school and work with the pupils through our School Council, Eco-Council and Criw Cymraeg; these pupil voice groups also attend a governing body meeting each year.
